#REALBRIDES: Paola & Giacomo

We are Paola and Giacomo,

We met in 10th grade, I (Paola) changed high schools and we ended up in the same class at the art high school in our areas.

We always liked each other and courted each other in ways that were also very fun and like real high schoolers but we were never together, we had a wonderful friendship based on total sincerity with each other.

After high school we kept in touch for a few years until our paths went our separate ways.

Years later by pure chance we met again outside a club and actually a few days later the same night we both dreamed that we were getting married, one thing led to another and we ended up here.

It's hard to remember our first date, we don't pay much attention to these things and we've known each other for so long even as friends that memories occasionally overlap.

Definitely one of the earliest and a funny memory for us is that Giacomo trying to be romantic organized a pic - nic for me in the spring, too bad I am allergic at that time and we had to run away from the camp.

Giacomo proposed to me last October during a trip to NY. We were guests in Brooklyn by a couple of mine whom I had photographed in Italy a month earlier.

We woke up very early because of jet lag, and we stayed cuddled in bed watching the sun rise, and there it happened in a very intimate and our own way.

With my dress it was like we belonged together, even with Ilaria from Ariel Spose who knows me very well when I tried it on before we even showed it to the people who were there with me we said "this has Paola written on it, it's yours!" and even my friends agreed.

I felt totally ME and that was the most important thing for me.

As shoes to enhance the look I chose Bottega Veneta shoes with a contemporary and unusual style, not really a wedding shoe.

While to cover myself having had bad luck with the weather I matched a bomber jacket in the same color as the shoes.

We chose Rome as the location for our wedding because my family is from Rome and my grandmother didn't feel like traveling, so it was crucial for me and us to have her by our side at this moment.

It was a day full of incredible emotions, feeling surrounded by so much love for us was one of the most beautiful feelings of our lives.

We were dazed by so much happiness, it was strange to hear our names called so formally brought us back to when they were doing roll call in class, if we think about it sometimes it still doesn't seem real to us, those two kids finally got married for real.
